Before you enrol
Recommendations online are either paid, vague, or both. We wanted a place that compares things side by side and shows its work.
What it is
- A side-by-side benchmarkEvery spot in a course is graded on the same rubric, so the scores compare fairly.
- Notes you can readEvery grade comes with written notes, so you can see why a place scored what it did.
- A growing course listCoffee comes first. After that we grade whatever is worth comparing.
- Run by studentsStarted by a small group at Boğaziçi. Anyone can follow along and suggest the next course.
What it isn't
- SponsoredNobody pays for a grade. We pay for everything we review.
- The final wordTaste is personal. We publish the scores so you can disagree with them.
- A takedownWe grade the product, not the people working the counter.
- A real degreeSadly, no diploma. Just a very thorough opinion.
Methodology
How we grade
Same visit routine, same order, same rubric. That consistency is what makes the rankings mean something.
- VisitAt least two of us go, on a normal day, without announcing ourselves.
- Order the controlEveryone orders the same reference drinks at every spot, so we compare like with like.
- Score separatelyEach tester scores every criterion from 0 to 10 before we talk about it.
- PublishScores are averaged, weighted, and turned into a letter grade with notes.
